NY Foreclosure Defense Developments

New York State passed legislation on August 1, 2013, requiring lenders/banks intending to begin foreclosure actions against homeowners to provide a ‘Certificate of Merit’ demonstrating that the lender/bank has the proper paperwork to establish that they have the right to commence the foreclosure action.

This new legislation is important for homeowners and foreclosure defense attorneys to understand and implement in their litigation strategy against lenders and banks.
